Gun Accident Prevention and Stranger Danger

At Ultimate Protection Firearms Academy, we believe that the responsibility of firearm accident prevention rests on both the firearm owners themselves and the gun shops/shooting ranges that profit from all things related to firearms. Clearly, that is why UPA (ULTIMATE Protection Academy) has been the leader in Michigan and perhaps the nation for 23 years in continuing to provide for free firearm accident prevention programs for children and their families. In fact, we are so confident that no other gun shop or shooting range provides these seminars regularly (some never do) that we offer to any registered student in our CPL/CCW course a full refund for that course if they can provide documented proof that another gun shop/shooting range has offered regularly for the past 23 years FREE GUN ACCIDENT PREVENTION PROGRAMS to the community.

What will the program cover?

The first half an hour is including, but not limited to: The Parent’s Responsibility; Talking to Children about Avoiding Gun Accidents using the NRA’s slogan: STOP! DON’T TOUCH! LEAVE THE AREA! AND TELL AN ADULT!   Discussing with Training Firearms and Toy guns, the importance of recognizing the deference between Real Guns and Toy Guns (Including BB, Pellet or Air Soft Guns).

The second half an hour will involve children with a sing-along video presentation, discussing and role playing of: (1) What is a Stranger? (2) How to escape if abducted by a stranger (3) How to remain free until safe if the child ever escapes capture.

What are the suggested ages for participation?

Children ages 5 to 12 while accompanied by at least one responsible adult; usually a parent or relative.

UPA has taught this program in the Warren Public School District, Waterford Public School district and East Pointe Public School District as well as many private and public locations around the Detroit Metropolitan Area with and without Local Law Enforcement Personnel!
